Brunyola

Brunyola is a municipality of the region of La Selva (Girona). It is in between the zone of contact between the Guilleries and the Girona area, within the term of Anglès. It is located 15 minutes from Girona.

The territory is quite mountainous, especially the area of the Guilleries, populated in good part of pine forests, chestnut trees and holm oaks. The economy is basically agricultural and its crops are destined mainly for potatoes, corn, vegetables, cereals and fodder. The growth of hazelnuts is very important in this area, they are actually referred to as La Selva's hazelnuts, because the area was one of the first producers. "La feria de la avellana" which translates to the Hazlenut Fair is celebrated annually since 1995.

A little further by car, you can also visit the beautiful medieval town of Besalú, the spa town of Sant Hilari and villages such as Viladrau, Espinelves and Arbucies.
